Whitewater north exclusive activity in unique locations!

White water tubing is one of the most fun and accessible ways to experience moving water in the Lake District and Cumbria. Riding individual inflatable tubes, you’ll float, spin, surf, and splash your way through natural rapids and flowing sections of river.

Unlike rafting, tubing puts you right at the surface of the water, creating a more personal and playful connection with the river.

Along the way, there’s time for river games, learning how to move with the flow, and appreciating the natural environment around you. As with all Whitewater North activities, safety is central we provide all specialist equipment and thorough briefings before getting on the water.

Locations:
We run tubing on a range of rivers across Cumbria and the Lake District. Most venues are within 20 minutes of Junction 36 on the M6, sometimes east, sometimes west.

Meeting point:
Water levels matter, so we choose the best river for tubing close to the date. You’ll receive a confirmation email the day before with exact meeting details, parking, and timings.

Group sizes:
Smaller bookings may be combined with other guests. If you want a fully private experience, consider booking a private session.

We use our local knowledge to pick rivers that make tubing playful, safe, and properly fun on the day.

Tubing is more flexible than rafting — but it still depends on the river behaving itself.

If water levels are too low, tubing often works brilliantly

If water levels are too high or pushy, tubing may not be suitable

If levels are too high for safe tubing, we’ll offer you:

Whitewater rafting instead, where being in a raft is the better option

OR
An alternative river or date if that’s what works best for you

No forced trips, no compromises — just the best option for the conditions.
