White water rafting with Whitewater North is all about real rivers, real rapids, and proper adventure. We run guided rafting trips on some of the best whitewater sections in Cumbria, choosing locations that match the group, the conditions, and the day.

Working as a team, you’ll paddle through wave trains, drops, and fast-moving water under the guidance of Dan, Jack and other guides who are passionate Whitewater specialists. Whether it’s your first time in a raft or you’re looking for something a bit more challenging, we tailor each trip to deliver maximum fun while keeping safety front and centre.

No two rivers are the same and that’s exactly how we like it. Expect a dynamic, immersive experience in wild places, with plenty of laughs, splashes, and moments that stick with you long after you’re off the water.

All specialist equipment is provided, and full safety briefings are given before you hit the river.

Locations: We operate on a variety of rivers across Cumbria and the Lake District. Most venues are within 20 minutes of Junction 36 on the M6, sometimes east, sometimes west.

Meeting point: Because water levels change, we choose the best river for your group close to the date. You’ll receive a final confirmation email the day before your trip with exact meeting details, parking info, and timings.

Group sizes: If you book with fewer than 6 people, your group may be split across rafts with other guests (we’ll always try to keep you together where possible).

Private raft: Want your own boat? Book a private raft to guarantee your group stays together.

We pride ourselves on local knowledge of a huge amount of venues, choosing rivers that deliver the best experience on the day.

We’re active kayakers ourselves and won’t run rafting trips unless the river is genuinely worth it

If levels are too low for proper Whitewater rafting, we’ll be honest.

In those cases, we’ll offer:

Whitewater tubing

OR

Our Eden River Safari even at low water its an incredibly scenic, family-friendly journey through a hidden valley with sporadic rapids up to class 4 to keep you on your toes!

No watered-down trips, your experience with us will start with transparency and end with great days on the river.
